iron Wall
I have a leaking connection between my pvc pipe going along my cellar wall and the cast iron connection.?
The cast iron joint has wetness and rust along the connection to the pvc and drips a little bit onto the floor. Is this natural condensation or a problem? Can we do anything to stop this? We are going to be doing over the basement and closing that wall.
you certainly don't want to close a wall if there will be moisture inside of it. Check the connection between the PVC and the cast iron... it should be a rubber coupling with a hose clamp on either end of it. Try to tighten the screws on the hoseclamps, otherwise, remove the coupler and replace with a new one.
