You do realize that even if you give them plenty of sunlight and water, they won't grow, right? I mean,... they're iron. It's like trying to plant a chicken and expecting to get chickens.

I knew what you wanted to do but you threw me with the "30 cm" cross section. 30 cm is a measure of distance and a cross section is an area. Try to use proper units when defining a problem.

Try to find pictures of the inside of a 1940's Anderson Air Raid shelter. I seem to remember that some people painted the inside, and ground up cork, and scattered it on when wet, to absorb the condensation. If used in a restaurant you might have the same problem.
