Does changing staircase railings and picketts/balusters add any value?
I'd like to change to look of my current solid white wooded balusters like:

I also have a white handrail that i'd like to change out. My question is, if I change the balusters/pickets, would I be adding any value to my home if i were to sell later or is this something i'd be doing because i like it but it doesn't add any real value. If it does add value to the home how much? If i get this done i will be paying 500.00 for all materials plus labor. Is it worth it to do this project, or not?
How could it add value? There could be only one way and that would be if the wooden balusters were damaged. If you like the wrought iron balusters just buy them, but I seriously doubt that it could add anything. Because people pay more for kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and alike, I have never heard of people paying a premium for balusters.
I wouldn't just change the balusters either, I'd change the lot for wrought iron, because having a wooden handrail and wrought iron balusters doesn't really look good, not as good as just all wood or all wrought iron.
Personally I'd spend the money on something you might need rather than just want.

Why are my cast iron skillets losing their seasoned coating?
I only use hot water to wash them, and dry them promptly over heat while wiping with a paper towel, then follow up by coating the inside with shortening. I have tried to reseason them all together and just start new but it always seems to happen again. When I got them from my grandmother they were well seasoned over many years, now the nice coating she had is almost gone, or in some places missing complelely. HELP! I don't want to ruin them as they are the only thing I have left that belonged to her.
YOU MAY LIVE WHERE THERE IS A LOT OF HUMIDITY IN THE AIR OR WATER WITH A LOT OF MINERALS, BUT SOUNDS ASIF YOU ARE DOING THE CORRECT PROCEDURE, DONT USE IT FOR SAUCES, JUST FRYING AND RE-SEASON AS NECESSARY.

What do you put in between fabric paint and iron when heat setting?
Yes, i screen printed on a tshirt and now i need to heat set it with an iron. What should i put in between the paint and the iron? Something like a towel? Or thinner? And how long should I iron it for? Thanks.
would another shirt work as an in between? And I can't glide the iron around? I thought you werent supposed to keep it in one place though or it will scorch the shirt? I wish there were just better instructions on the paint...
If inside out, nothing.........right side up, use something like the old fashioned men's handkerchief or muslin, etc........always move by picking up the iron, don't slide it as it can smear....good luck!
