I have a 4 poster wrought iron bed but have lost the four finials and have no idea how to go about finding replacements. I have googled everything I can think of. Any ideas?
Why not just get wood ones and paint them black? More readily available, and cheaper.
If you can't find an actual finial you like, just glue what you like to the post. Make sure you use the proper glue for what you are using.

What is the easiest way to remove paint and rust from a wrought iron fence?
My fiance and I are looking to repaint a wrought iron fence that seperates our pool from the rest of the backyard. It is only rusting and peeling on the bottom but we figured the whole thing should be redone. Any ideas?
sand blasting is the easiest and most effective way to do it.
You could also use some chemicals to soften and remove the paint and steel wool to rub the rust off it.
I think taking off paint in good condition is a waste of time. I would start with the steel wool and see how it goes. Use the course stuff on rust first then finish with fine over the rust and paint. Just try to scratch the paint so the next coat will stick well.
wrought iron How to paint bronze metal patina on wrought iron?
I just purchased a wrought iron pedestrian gate which was installed in an entry way in my back yard. It is all black. I would like to do a faux paint, bronze metal patina, but am unsure exactly how to go about doing it. Can anyone assist.

If it is already painted, you have a few choices. You can try to strip the existing paint off, or you can use an oil based primer. Trying to get a bronze patina is not easy, but it can be done with a little practice. Once you have your work piece primed, start with a coat of gold paint. Let this coat dry completely before continuing. Next get some Olive Drab Green and put a light coat of this on top of the gold. Before this coat dries, take some paint thinner on a sponge and lightly dab the green pant in some areas. Remember, a natural patina is not at all uniform so the best way to determine where and how much paint to remove it would be a good thing to get a photograph of a bronze sculpture and just look at that finish. There are some examples on the website of Bronze-Depot.com. Once this step is complete, mix a very small amount of gray paint into the green. Again look at your photo or whatever you have as a template, and little by little add and mix until you think it is light enough. Make sure to reserve a small amount of this because you will need it later. Get another sponge and use this to apply this paint. Do not use the one you had the thinner on, but keep it close by. Dab this lighter green color around and remember not to be consistent. When this dries, take the sponge you used with the thinner. Get the green paint you reserved and mix a little more gray paint along with a generous amount of paint thinner into this until you get the consistency of ink. Stand your gate up against something and soak the sponge in this paint and squeeze a small amount of this paint onto it and let it run down. I know this sounds like a lot to have to go through, but keep in mind that you are doing in days what it takes nature months or years to do. My advice would be to try this technique on something other than your gate as practice. One more hint would be to make the effect more pronounced as you go toward the bottom of the gate, because this is exactly how it works naturally. Don't get discouraged if you don't get it just right the first time. Good luck and I hope this works.

iron Door How to remove clay and iron stains from brick walls, windows and grill doors?
Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows any trick in removing clay and iron stains from light coloured brick walls and from windows and grill doors. I have badly "iron stained" walls and fence (colourbond) and "impossible to remove clay" on my windows and pavers and on my black grill doors. All this was due to my bore water initially and now it's driving me insane with my house being the only one in the area with such stains!

OHHHHHHHHH ! Don't you dare use muriatic acid on light colour bricks and grill doors !!!
It will acid-burn your bricks and make them a pukey yellow-greeny-yellow with a brand new kind of stain, "vanadium stain", and the rust stain will remain just the same. Muriatic acid will etch the glass, and it will definitely react with the metal on the grill doors severely corode the surface and disintegrate the metal turning it into a form of some kind of "salt". Brick manufacturers specifically advise AGAINST using muriatic acid, especially for light colour bricks, but even for normal red and dark bricks.
In the past, muriatic acid was used to dissolve cement smudges of normal red bricks....cement is basically limestone powder that was heated to 3000 degrees F to make it reactive and harden when mixed with water...and you know calcium or lime(stone) dissolves profusely in acid, but clay is not limestone or calcium, clay is microscopic quartz-type / silicate sand, and acid won't do as much at dissolving it, just etch or irritate it.
Some positive solutions which you could use safely, Klenztone, non-corrosive and environmentally safe (www.klenztone.com) or Marble Poultice from a marble shop, to gently scrub away the clay from the glass, and maybe even from the grill doors, and Vanatrol to remove the metalic stain from the brick without causing additional metalic staining or without "acid-burn". (www.prosoco.com)

what can i do with my door frame for iron gym?
i want to buy iron gym but my door frame isn't thick enough so the iron gym would slip off or not hang off . can someone tell me what i can do to let me put iron gym on my old fashion door frame
The Irongym should come with a safety wedge which goes into the molding so that the Irongym doesn't slip out from the top. I dont need to use it but its a safety precaution.
