iron Hand
where can i find a iron hand railing?
I have 2 concrete steps that branch off of my front porch and i would like to have a iron handrail for them but i can not seem to find anything of the type easily. I would use wood and cut it to the proper length but due to restrictions set by the homeowners association i am not allowed to do this... I need to have iron.

Does changing staircase railings and picketts/balusters add any value?
I'd like to change to look of my current solid white wooded balusters like:

to the wrought iron ones like:

I also have a white handrail that i'd like to change out. My question is, if I change the balusters/pickets, would I be adding any value to my home if i were to sell later or is this something i'd be doing because i like it but it doesn't add any real value. If it does add value to the home how much? If i get this done i will be paying 500.00 for all materials plus labor. Is it worth it to do this project, or not?
How could it add value? There could be only one way and that would be if the wooden balusters were damaged. If you like the wrought iron balusters just buy them, but I seriously doubt that it could add anything. Because people pay more for kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and alike, I have never heard of people paying a premium for balusters.
I wouldn't just change the balusters either, I'd change the lot for wrought iron, because having a wooden handrail and wrought iron balusters doesn't really look good, not as good as just all wood or all wrought iron.
Personally I'd spend the money on something you might need rather than just want.
