Mom laid her eggs in my 5 ft high iron candle holder. I understand the babies will leave the nest, but won't be able to fly. They are going to land on my brick (enclosed) patio. I'll put pine straw down below the candle holder, but are they going to live on the brick patio until they can fly. Seems awful hard and cold to me. Also, how long will it take them to be able to fly after they leave the nest. I've put off gardening this beautiful spring in order not to disturb them. How long do you think this will take. The eggs should hatch about 3 days from now. Thanks -- this is my first experience.
They can usually flutter when they leave the nest..so they don't usually crash and hurt themselves. Soon after they will be able to fly short distances..from branch to branch, and soon after that they will be flying just as well as the adults.

What kind of glue can I use to repair my wrought iron fireplace surround?
I have an ornamental fireplace surround and one of my candle holders broke off when we were moving. I have tried JB weld and it did not hold.
you won't find anything in a tube to adhere metal to metal that's going to hold for any length of time. You will have to get it welded back on.
