Modern synthetic rubber tires actually have enough carbon in the rubber compounds that they conduct enough electricity that any static charges are dissipated back to the road surface directly through the tires now, therefore there is no longer any need for a dissipation strap or chain.

I only iron my husbands dress shirts and a few of my skirts and dresses. I do however, take items, one at a time, out of the dryer (then turn the dryer back on) hang it up, and repeat. (I even hang up our t-shirts and jeans)
I do the dryer thing too! Right after the dryer, I hang up the clothes. Anything wrinkled my husband irons for me. He just spoils me like that. =)
