wrought iron What is an attractive way to prevent a small dog from slipping through the bars of a wrought iron fence?
My chihuahua can slip through the bars of our wrought iron fence and escape onto the street. We would prefer not to put chicken wire up around the yard in order to contain him which would really diminish the attractiveness of our yard. We are unsure of what would be a better alternative. Our fence is a light beige color. I have heard of electronic dog fencing, however, that appears to be pretty expensive. I'd love a more economical, but attractive alternative. Any suggestions?
An underground dog fence can be pretty cheap if you do it yourself, ($100 for a Walmart brand, $300 for the Rolls Royce)
Installation is pretty quick and easy if you already have a fence, just run the wire along your existing fence, securing it with zip ties.

I finally found my mother's, but we ccouldn'tfind the cookbook she made her waffle batter from. Sorry, CAST IRON. Jeez. And that's not true, all the belgian waffle mixes are fluffy. I want something more dense, meant to be crisp. You're no help at all wmayer, and you're kind of a jerk.

2 1/2 c. water or soy milk 2 c. regular oats 2 Tbs. sesame seeds 2 Tbs. whole grain flour 2 tsp. liquid or granular lecithin 3/4 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla, maple or lemon extract 2 Tbs. honey or 3 Tbs. apple juice concentrate or 1/4 c. raisins or dates
Blend all ingredients until creamy. Pour batter into bowl. Prepare waffle iron by brushing lightly with lecithin-oil mixture . Close lid and preheat on high 5-8 minutes. When waffle iron is hot, sprinkle sesame seeds on bottom for easy removal and enhanced flaor. Pour 1 and 3/4 c. batter over seeds and sprinkle more seeds on top of batter. Close lid and bake 10-12 minutes . Cool waffle. Before freezing or stacking place saran wrap or waxed paper between waffle.

Recently purchased a new solid black with silver patina wrought iron bed with metal rails from the internet. When it arrived the boxes had an oder and we quickly put it together discarding them. It is the bed which has a sort of sooty/paint musty type of smell which is permiating the room. The box spring and mattress are not on the bed as of yet. I notified the company and they said to wipe it down with a DRY cloth and it should be okay. I have done this 4 times and each time black residue appears on the cloth. Any suggestions what is wrong and how to remove the oder.
Call them again and tell them the issue. Dry wiping something is not going to do anything except remove dust or anything lying on top of the surface (and not well). Tell them they need to let you know what kind of product you can use to CLEAN this bed with and that if it doesnt stop the smell you will expect a full refund. I mean what if you put on brand new expensive bedding and then it got black stuff all over it? They need to be a little more cautious with the quality of the product they are sending out.
It most likely has something to do with some kind of chemical or oil that they put on the bed so like I said, find out what it can be cleaned with and give that a shot.
