iron lamp Accent color help for brown leather furniture please?
We are getting new dark brown leather furniture. Right now I have dark brown window treatments and the walls are already painted a taupe color. What would be a good accent color to do the windows in and maybe the color of lamp shades? I want to do a red but my kitchen already has a lot of red because it's in chili peppers. I have black framed pictures and mirror and some black iron candle decor. I need some suggestions please?
What a great opportunity you have! The room could get way too dark if the black moves in also. It depends on what colors you like to wear and feel comfortable in. Colors that would work: pale blue, peach and green, yes, sunshine yellow all that lovely range of creamy pastels eggshell and cream.... pink could work, orange, softened down to peach and all in-between I can't see the purple family there, but maybe... If the leather is a solid color, might want to have a couple of patterns added: a large one and related tones in smaller print or checks. It sounds mechanical put that way, but the advice might help. Some people say the colors should flow from one room to another. You could have a red and peach print to go with the kitchen. Mine are different colors, but with some over-lap 'cause I like the color. The right answer is: just about anything that You Like. No body can make you feel incompetent without your permission. How about getting a decorative roller and slightly different paint and going over the walls, or one.... I did, and like it a lot. Even a metallic paint.... and I painted the wall over the fireplace a turquoise green -- had seen it in a magazine when was little and always wanted one. Hope this helps.

Would galvanized Iron piping work as a computer arm mount?
I was looking to make my own computer monitor arm to attach to my desk out of galvanized iron piping, similar to this sites' lamps: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_1&listing_id=22949205 but was wondering if all that metal would effect my wireless, monitor, or computer at all.
It won't affect your computer or any of its parts and pieces. If you have a standard CRT monitor, there is a small possibility that the iron pipe could affect it if it happens to be magnetic, but otherwise not at all.
Note that galvanized pipe goes dull after a brief period, and is also more difficult to paint than standard black-iron. Further, the threaded areas are often not galvanized and so are prone to rust. You might consider using regular black-iron pipe (cheaper than galvanized), which when thorougly cleaned takes paint very well. You could then paint it all sorts of neat colors either as individual pieces or fittings or as a whole.
